"Pub sign Picasso Nick Hallard has been impressing drinkers and landlords alike with his skills" - The Argus

customer testimony

OLD PIER GUEST HOUSE
Plymouth, Devon :: Steve Jones
The Old Pier Guest House
in Plymouth, Devon, needed a new hand painted sign for the exterior of the premises. Steve Jones, the Old Pier Guest House's proprietor, recently wrote to eyebright to express his delight at his new purchase (see right):

"We are really pleased with the sign and its impact has already resulted in an increase in business from people walking or driving along the road."          Steve Jones

SMUGGLER'S RESTAURANT
Sompting, West Sussex :: Peter Bench
One of Nick Hallard's customers, Peter Bench, proprietor of The Smuggler's Restaurant in Sompting, didn't suggest a quote to use as testimonial. Instead, he insisted that his telephone number be included, and any potential eyebright customers should call him to hear his testimonial direct! So, for those who wish to do so, his number is (+44) 01903 236072.

THE WHITEHAYES ARMS
Dorset :: Mr. & Mrs. David
Mrs. David of Dorset wanted a birthday present for her husband. They have a bar and games room in the back garden of their home, and she knew that an original pub sign commission from Nick Hallard would not only be the perfect present for her husband, but also the perfect addition to their home bar. The choice of subject matter was not difficult - the couple have two stunning dogs (see bottom right), who make the ideal choice for an entirely personal sign (see right):

"The outcome was perfect. How Nick captured the likeness of our dogs just by looking at a handful of photographs, I will never know. The sign was packaged and delivered exactly as Nick had promised and my husband was thrilled when he saw it on his birthday. Since August 2004, the sign has been hanging outside 'The Whitehayes Arms' and has never changed - the quality of the paintwork is as brilliant today as it was in August 2004. We are due to move house soon and although the new house doesn't yet have a garden games room/bar, it soon will, and the sign will take pride of place outside. We highly recommend Nick Hallard for his artwork, quality and service. He is professional and his work for us was simply superb."                                        Mrs. David

THE CROWN INN
Taunton, Somerset :: James Smith
James Smith wanted something special for his sister's wedding present. She lives in a converted pub, so he decided he would commission a full size, personalised inn sign. He knew he wanted her two Golden Cocker Spaniels in the image, and a crown of some description, so Nick Hallard created dozens of thumbnail sketches (see far left). From these, a final sketch was produced (see bottom left), and it was from this 6in x 9in sketch that the final double sided, 3ft x 4ft inn sign was created (see left):

"My sister has literally just received the delivery of the sign, and she is totally over the moon. I would you like to thank you for your being so courteous and considerate in your work and in our conversations. I am also extremely impressed with your creative ability, although I only had a vague idea of what I wanted - you managed to produce something better than I could ever had hoped for."         James Smith

JONNY QUALITY
Brighton, Sussex :: Sean Moody
Sean is the US-born powerhouse behind Brighton's 'surfabilly hick-hop' outfit Jonny Quality . He recently commissioned his logo to be hand-painted onto their kick drum skin ahead of the recent Fatboy Slim 'Palookaville' tour, on which they were backing Norman Cook (see left). Here's Sean's colourful account of what it meant to buy original, bespoke artwork from Nick Hallard...

"Nick Hallard at Eyebright Murals painted our logo onto a kick drum head for Jonny Quality's tour with Fatboy Slim. The paint neither cracked nor peeled - we have even exposed it to relentless heat from stage lighting and the latest in pyrotechnics. We can't get it to light up at all!

I would strongly recommend Nick Hallard for any band's custom drum head artwork needs. Even if you sound like sh*t you still look like a million bucks! And Nick is a really nice guy!"                       Sean Moody
